Assistant Field Construction Manager
Assist the onsite Construction Manager in the planning, management direction, project completion and client satisfaction during the construction of major food facility projects nationwide. Assist from project mobilization through final owner occupancy while helping coordinate all contractual requirements, design drawings, and project specifications.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as the second field point of contact with the client and as an extension of their facilities team
- Act as a liaison between the client and ESI’s Project Manager, when necessary, as well as subcontractors and subconsultants in executing the design of food facility construction projects of various sizes
- Assist in the management of high-profile food industry-related projects from site mobilization through close-out, all while controlling costs, schedule, permitting, subcontractor work performance, subcontract execution, purchases, construction meetings, material suppliers, and reviewing payment requests to establish and manage budgets
- Expedite all site requirements, including subcontractors, material, construction equipment, and labor, to ensure the project is constructed in the most efficient and organized manner
- Interact with the client to meet company margins, quality, and safety standards, including safety training and inspections
- Assist in review of shop drawings, submittals, change orders, project photos and daily logs for review and processing
- Assist with documentation of weekly meetings and weekly meeting minutes, management of construction documents, closeout documentation, punch-list management, warranty procurement, and As-Built documentation procurement
- Position requires nationwide travel with project assignments lasting approximately three (3) months to twenty-four (24) months in duration

EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- College degree in an appropriate engineering discipline, such as Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering, plus a minimum of zero (0) to three (3) years of work experience within the construction industry
- Willingness to travel 100% of the time throughout the continental United States
- Superior communication and organizational skills
- Familiarity with relevant building codes, practices, and principles
- Strong teamwork skills
- Computer literacy required, with proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Word
- Previous Procore experience is a plus
- Educational and/or professional references are required
- In addition to the above listed requirements, candidates who posses OSHA certification, project scheduling experience, and/or document control experience may receive greater consideration during the evaluation process
