ESI Design Project achieves LEED Silver for Ben E. Keith Foods
Hartland, Wis. – ESI Design Services is the innovative architecture and engineering arm for the nationally accredited design-build engineering and construction management firm ESI Group USA. ESI Design Services completed the preliminary planning and full design for the 400,000 square-foot LEED Silver certified Food Distribution Center for Ben E. Keith Foods in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
Some key features of what is called the Mid-South Division is a large professional kitchen with demo areas plus live TV for chef’s to effectively demonstrate products and recipes to large groups of people. The Cooler and Dry Storage areas, offer automated racking. The decision to implement automation in a cold storage environment is often driven by the ability to increase accuracy, productivity, efficiency, as well as safety.
An eight-bay Truck Maintenance Garage and Automated Truck and Trailer wash sit on 9 acres of the 68-acre site to allow for full servicing of Ben E. Keith’s fleet of tractors and trailers.
