Certified CEBA Professional – Troy Gough

HARTLAND, WI., April 29, 2025 – ESI Group USA (ESI Group) remains committed to advancing both the controlled environment industry and its workforce. Now in its second year, the CEBA Certified Professional program—developed by the Controlled Environment Building Association (CEBA)—continues to elevate industry standards by deepening expertise in the design, construction, and operation of controlled-environment facilities. The comprehensive certification covers critical areas, including product safety regulations, environmental control systems, facility design principles, and the broader environmental and energy impacts of these specialized buildings. Certification is awarded upon successful completion of a rigorous assessment, affirming a professional’s advanced knowledge and commitment to excellence.

“CEBA’s certification program continues to set a strong industry benchmark,” says Brad Barke, founder and president of ESI Group. “It equips our team with the most up-to-date, advanced, specialized knowledge to design and deliver high-performing controlled-environment facilities. Ongoing professional development like this ensures we maintain the highest standards our clients expect.”

ESI Group proudly announces that Troy Gough, a valued design team member, has successfully completed the CEBA Certified Professional program. As an architect with over 30 years of experience designing food industry facilities, Troy plays a key role in client engagement and mentoring new team members. This certification underscores both his individual dedication and ESI’s commitment to excellence in controlled-environment facility design.

About CEBA

Formed in 1978 by a small group of insulation contractors to discuss the formation of an association representing contractors who serve the specific needs of the cold storage industry. The National Association of Cold Storage Insulation Contractors was incorporated within a year, and its founding Board of Directors was named. Multiple committees were formed to serve membership and industry.  In 2002, another name change was made to the International Association for Cold Storage Construction to invite a broader membership and give all members equal status. To better align with a changing industry and expand the expertise of its members, the association’s name changed in 2018 to the Controlled Environment Building Association (CEBA).
