HARTLAND, WI., January 9, 2025– ESI Group USA (ESI Group) is pleased to announce the expansion of US Foods’ existing food distribution center. The 172,000-square-foot expansion will enhance the facility’s capabilities, ensuring more efficient operations and better service to US Foods’ customers across the region. The expansion project is said to be Buda’s largest project ever.
This expansion will include the addition of specialized areas, such as a freezer, multi-temperature coolers, dry storage, and cold and dry docks. All will provide US Foods with a broader range of storage options and increased inventory capacity.
ESI Group will implement robust construction techniques to support the expanded infrastructure, including drilled piers and grade beams to stabilize the building foundation. A new compressor room and electrical room will be installed, along with additional electrical service to accommodate the expanded facility’s increased demand.
Partnering with US Foods to Boost Capacity

Construction is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2026, with operations ramping up immediately following the expansion. The facility will provide US Foods with additional storage space and advanced logistics capabilities, enhancing its ability to meet the needs of its customers in a rapidly evolving market.
