This year, the Controlled Environment Building Association (CEBA) introduced a new certification program designed to deepen expertise in the construction, maintenance, and management of controlled-environment facilities. The comprehensive program addresses key areas such as product safety regulations, building design principles, control systems for controlled environments, and their environmental and energy impacts. Participants earn their certification after passing a rigorous assessment exam.

Formed in 1978 by a small group of insulation contractors to discuss the formation of an association representing contractors who serve the specific needs of the cold storage industry. The National Association of Cold Storage Insulation Contractors was incorporated within a year, and its founding Board of Directors was named. Multiple committees were formed to serve membership and industry. In 2002, another name change was made to the International Association for Cold Storage Construction to invite a broader membership and give all members equal status. To better align with a changing industry and expand the expertise of its members, the association’s name changed in 2018 to the Controlled Environment Building Association
